Te Matau-a-Māui doomgaze duo Dos-Ovni are taking their dark, atmospheric sound on the road this October and November. Drawing from two decades of combined musical experience, the duo craft haunting soundscapes through minimalist compositions, reverb-drenched vocals, and brooding textures. Their sound is influenced by artists such as Chelsea Wolfe, Low, Darkher, and King Woman.
Joining them on stage are Pōneke's own Serpent Dream and Dead Queens.
Serpent Dream defy categorisation, with equal parts ambient, experimental, folk, soundscape, and post-rock with the vaguest hint of heavy metal references. The instruments are classical and acoustic but are interspersed with technology.
Dead Queens create a sound all their own, with haunting vocals, chaotic psychedelic grooves, and the melancholic power of doom.
Doors open 8pm, show starts at 8.30pm. Door Sales available ($20p/p).
