Local Wellington darlings NATIONAL SENSATION are joining forces with folk-duo Moon Goose, for a Sunday special at Moon on November 30th. With a view to celebrate their recent friendship, which includes an unlikely combination of indie-folk-celtic-rock-alternative-pop music and a shared love for mullets and bowl-cuts, these strangely adorable creatures will blow your socks off.
Kicking off the evening are alt-folk artists Moon Goose, who recently released their debut EP ‘On the Island Where Our Shadows Lie’, showcasing their dark-yet-bright blend of Celtic-inspired folk music. Their songs include both traditional folk songs from the British Isles and original compositions that celebrate nature, friendship, and the magic of storytelling. With intricate harmonies, deep folk-scapes, glittering guitar and fiddle riffs, Moon Goose will move you deep and good.
Unique creatures of growing renown, NATIONAL SENSATION have been compared to Kate Bush, Bjork, Devendra Banhart, Jefferson Airplane, The Phoenix Foundation, Florence and the Machine, London Grammar, The Topp Twins, and various other bands that they are trying really hard to rip off without infringing on copyright. You’ll get bloody good bangers, ballads, banter and more as they sing about the serious stuff, like calling Aotearoa home, your Mum, the bush, death in a funny way, death in a sad way and your local Residents Association. They haven’t peaked yet so see them before they’re washed up.
