PRESS RELEASE:
You’re probably a fan of THUNDERCAT already, even if you don’t know it.
Feb 3 will see Wellington fans witness most probably the definitive gig of the year, as Thundercat noodles the frets as if each hand possesses twelve digits.
As Thundercat, Bruner takes his jazz roots and works with a mix of artists that suit his wildly experimental sensibilities – ranging from Flying Lotus, Erykah Badu, and Stanley Clarke, as well as more recent collaborations with Wiz Khalifa and Earl Sweatshirt.
Forever a wildcat and wild card he is impossible to tame artistically. A true master of his craft, he can be found playing bass with Suicidal Tendencies, in the same breath as performing live with the likes of Snoop Dogg or the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Thundercat recently returned to the Brainfeeder fold with his first solo material in two years, having already made outstanding contributions to not one, but two, of the greatest albums of 2015 – To Pimp a Butterfly and The Epic – by fellow Los Angelians Kendrick Lamar and Kamasi Washington.
