Caught Live: Will Wood - Way Over Yonder In The Minor Key (Woody Guthrie Cover)
Musical jack-of-all-trades Will Wood is gearing up to release his second album at the end of the month, which will also see the seasoned troubadour hitting the road with working-class rapper Tourettes for a extensive nationwide tour. The record, titled Magpie Brain And Other Stories was produced, recorded and mixed by Ben Edwards at The Sitting Room in Lyttelton, and nods to the timeless work of songwriters such as Woody Guthrie. And similarly to the legendary minstrel, Wood has a passion for performing anytime, anywhere.
In this clip, the Auckland-based musician performs Guthrie's song 'Way Over Yonder In The Minor Key', which was only put to music in 1998 thanks to Billy Bragg and Wilco.
