J.G. Thirlwell Announces Three New Zealand Shows
Legendary musician, composer and producer J.G Thirlwell has announced his first ever New Zealand shows. The Australian artist (who embraces several alter-egos including Foetus, Clint Ruin, Frank Want and Steroid Maximus) has an enviable and highly-experimental back catalogue that stretches back more than 30 years and boasts collaborations with the likes of Nick Cave, Lydia Lunch, Faith No More, Swans and more. The Audio Foundation in association with Bar Bodega and Christchurch Art Gallery are over the moon to present legendary musician, composer and producer JG THIRWELL on his first ever tour of New Zealand!
JG THIRLWELL is a composer, producer, recording artist, and performer based in Brooklyn NY. With an extensive body of work that spans over 25 years, Thirlwell has performed under such aliases as FOETUS, STEROID MAXIMUS, BABY ZIZANIE, WISEBLOOD, DJ OETFSU, GARAGE MONSTERS, FLESH VOLCANO, IMMACULATE CONSUMPTIVE and CLINT RUIN.
In addition, Thirlwell has produced, mixed and/or performed on vast quantities of recordings including many of the releases on LYDIA LUNCH’s Widowspeak label and artists as diverse as THE THE, PANTERA, NINE INCH NAILS, WHITE ZOMBIE, JON SPENCER BLUES EXPLOSION, COIL, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, ARTO LYNDSAY, MARC ALMOND, SWANS and countless others.
Today, Thirlwell continues to release new records and currently serves as the soundtrack composer for THE VENTURE BROTHERS and ARCHER.
