After 12 months of teasing, the incredible first single from The Veils' upcoming fifth album Total Depravity has finally landed. Produced by Def Jux co-founder EL-P (who is a long-time fan of the NZ-formed group), 'Axolotl' is a stomping blend of EL-P's signature experimental hip hop production paired with an impassioned diatribe from The Veil's frontman Finn Andrews. Listen below...

Total Depravity, which is set to hit shelves on 26th August via Network Records, also saw the band working again with producers Adam “Atom” Greenspan and Nick Launay for the first time since their 2006 release Nux Vomica. In a statement accompanying the release of 'Axolotl', Finn Andrews explains EL-P's involvement...

"A crucial aspect of this album has been the involvement of El-P who I met outside a bar in downtown LA, and to whom I have fast become very good friends. He introduced himself firstly as a sincere fan of our band, and we got to talking about music and all the good stuff. The very next day we ended up at his friend Wilder's house in Eagle Rock and we wrote and produced the song 'Axolotl.' The vocal was sung directly into the keyboard of a laptop and was all completed very quickly."
