Caught Live: The Original Misfits at Riot Fest

The crowd at Denver's Riot Fest were treated to a spectacular event last night when Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only reunited on stage as the Misfits for the first time since 1983. Playing as The Original Misfits, the two icons were joined by guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein and Slayer’s Dave Lombardo on drums, and together the group worked through 25-odd fan favourites.

According to Rolling Stone, Danzig told the crowd: "About 40 years ago, Jerry and I got onstage in New York and we shocked the whole fucking punk scene who didn't know what the fuck to make of us ...We didn't look like anybody. We didn't sound like anybody. We were angry, pissed-off and we dressed all in fucking black and we were always getting into fights and shitloads of fucking trouble every night. That's pretty much what punk was back then, getting fucked up and fucking people up. At least in New York City it was."

And judging from the footage below, they were very much embracing that same spirit...
