As we announced last week, pioneering UK punk band The Damned are coming to New Zealand next year for one show to celebrate their 40th anniversary. The Auckland date comes as part of an epic tour, which will see The Damned globetrotting right into mid-2017, and they kicked the whole thing off with two shows at New York's Gramercy Theatre over the weekend.
Spearheaded by vampiric vocalist Dave Vanian and guitarist Captain Sensible, the shows saw the group work through a huge chunk of their back-catalogue and wrap up with fan favourite 'New Rose', which was captured by a clever showgoer on the second evening. Check that showmanship!!
The Damned
Wednesday 8th March, The Studio, Auckland
