Listen: Pleasure Majenta – Icu (Demo)

A wanderlust for adventure and anecdotal anthropology is a common thread amongst many New Zealand musicians, and may explain why many of our creatives find themselves across the ditch or further into the beyond. One such example of this is Lawrence Goodwin, the prolific musical entity with fingers in such pies as Career Girls, Caroles and, most recently, The Pleasure Majenta. After a slew of summertime shows, the member-fluid group has revealed a new slice of listening bliss for our ears.

'Icu' features a driving, repetitive rhythm with droning woodwind instruments over the top. The brooding vocals are reverb drenched and provide a haunting contrast to the sitar-like eastern sounding guitar lines. Board the musical caravan below...
