After seven years of crafting their otherworldly blend of textural shoegaze and down-tempo doom, Bay Area misery mongers King Woman have unshackled their debut full length in its entirety. Ominously titled Created In The Image Of Suffering, the album is brooding, to say the least. The clean, minor chord arpeggios of ‘Hierophant’ serve as a haunting backdrop to front woman Kristina Esfandiari’s chilling ghastly refrain.
