PRESS RELEASE:

Secret Sounds presents
LONDON GRAMMAR
Announce New Zealand Debut

Brit Award-nominated three-piece London Grammar today announce their long-awaited first New Zealand concert at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Saturday 30 September.

The concert announcement also marks the release of their stunning, critically acclaimed second album Truth Is A Beautiful Thing, which is out tomorrow, June 9 via Dew Process / UMA.

Special guests to be announced and tickets are on sale 9:00am, Friday 16 June.

London Grammar’s captivating live show first reached this side of the world back when they played The Falls Music And Arts Festival 2013/14, as well as three, sold-out sideshows. In September 2013, their debut LP If You Wait hit the New Zealand album charts, peaking at #13 and staying in the charts for two months. The album went on to sell over two million copies worldwide, and saw them awarded a prestigious Ivor Novello Award for the spectacular single, ‘Strong’.

With growing fame, the band returned to Australia in 2015 to play sold out arena shows across the country, with the likes of The Music declaring, “with Reid’s vocals pushing the performance to new heights, elating every soul and leaving everyone hoping that it’s not as long between visits for London Grammar.”

They visited Australia over the new year, again to perform on the Falls Festival stage; this time as a headliner. They celebrated the occasion by ensuring Aussie fans were the first in the world to hear brand-new material from the forthcoming album, when they debuted the heart-wrenching, ‘Rooting For You’. After three visits to Australia, London Grammar finally crosses the Tasman to perform for their Kiwi fans for the first time, armed with the the exquisite songs from Truth Is A Beautiful Thing.

Truth Is A Beautiful Thing production credits come courtesy of Paul Epworth, the multi-Grammy and Oscar-winning producer for the likes of Florence & The Machine and Adele. The album also features production by friend and Mercury-nominee Jon Hopkins (Brian Eno, King Creosote) on the sweeping lead single ‘Big Picture’, as well as colour and depth provided by the genius of the 32-piece City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, who play across the record. The band also worked with LA based Greg Kurstin (Sia, Beck) as well as Tim Bran and Roy Kerr.
