Here's Five: The Pinheads Share Songs To Reset Your Mind

Later this week Wollogong six-piece The Pinheads will be bringing their howling live show across the ditch for the first time ever. The three-date tour will see the group joined by Auckland psych duo Ghost Wave and comes in support of their sizzling self-titled debut album which was released back in May via Farmer and the Owl Records. In anticipation of their visit, lead singer Jez Player shared five of his favourite "song eraser songs (like when you have an awful song in your head, and you have to listen to this other song to get it out…)", check out his selections below...

1. Lubricated Goat - 'Nerve Quake'
Lubricated Goat’s Plays The Devil’s Music is the perfect prescription to delete all thoughts. Not sure music this slimy has been made since, honourable mention to King Snake Roost (Check out From Barbarism To Christian Manhood). 

2. James Chance & The Contortions - 'Dish It Out'
If the last one didn’t work, this is sure to wipe the slate clean. Play it loud and go into a state of panic, let your brain rattle back and forth to the beat of the drum and go into a cold sweat that is sure to cleanse your soul.

3. Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers - 'Chinese Rocks'
It is said that the human body carries roughly 60% water. The best way to erase something horrid is to utilise that, let the water conduct the electricity penetrating you with the opening riff of this certified hit and you will be born again.

4. Wipers - 'Messenger'
It was hard to pick the right mind-numbing song by Wipers as they’ve got so many good ones. ‘Is This Real?’, ‘Youth Of America’ and ‘Over The Edge’ are all great albums with great mind-numbing qualities, guaranteed to help you lose your place in time and space.

5. Replacements - 'Seen Your Video'
‘Seen your video, of phoney rock and roll, we don’t wanna know’. Do you need to know anymore?
