The one-night event, which takes place across the K' Road precinct, will see Flying Nun's Canadian signees The Courtneys returning to our shores to take part in the festivities, and from the label's classic coffers will be a special appearance from Dunedin natives Sneaky Feelings. Also weighing in for an evening of magic will be globally-divided Taite Prize-winning trio Street Chant, not to mention 2016 Legacy Award winner Bic Runga. FROM THE PRESS RELEASE:
THE OTHERS WAY RETURNS TO AUCKLAND’S K ROAD IN SEPTEMBER 2017
For two years running, The Others Way has seen Auckland’s Karangahape Road transform into a paradise of local music, boasting the hottest, freshest, out-of-the-box indie, electronica, pop and more.
What’s better - it's back for another year this spring. Dust off your dancing shoes, because Flying Out is pleased to present The Others Way Festival 2017 - a unique, multi-venue festival across Auckland's K’Road on Friday 1st September 2017.
Celebrating the best in alternative music from across the country (and a few from around the globe), The Others Way features over 30 acts across eight venues for a one-stop A-Z dip into an oasis of the coolest kiwi music.
While years gone by might seem hard to top, 2017 promises to be another night to remember and The Others Way may not have continued without the generosity and support of friends and local businesses - Karma Cola, Coffee Supreme, Kate Sylvester, K Road Business Association, Going Global Music Summit, Garage Project, APRA AMCOS NZ / OneMusic and Phantom Billstickers. Today the first line-up is unveiled, and it’s a doozie.
This glittering lineup will be performing across a number of fine K Road establishments - Whammy Bar, Wine Cellar, Neck of the Woods, Galatos, The Studio and The Thirsty Dog. One wristband will permit you entry to all venues with capacity.
Early release tickets are available now from flyingout.co.nz, in store at Flying Out (80 Pitt Street), or through undertheradar.co.nz. First release tickets are $59 plus booking fee. Save yourself dosh and get in quick - with a lineup this strong, tickets will sell out.
