Sydney Duo WDK Announce Debut New Zealand Tour

Thursday 10th August, 2017 4:25PM

Experimental dance duo WDK are crossing the Tasman for four New Zealand shows at the end of the month. WDK is the collaborative project between Sydney-based artists Jannah Quill and Laura Hunt, who together fuse their individual practices of DIY electronics and sculptural sound into an amalgamation of hard-hitting noise-techno. Their live act is an experience to behold, as the two build on complex structural rhythms with layers of improvisational noise using solar panels, electromagnetic microphones and amplified water. Here are the details for their first ever New Zealand shows...

WDK

Friday 25th August, Audio Foundation, Auckland w/ Drorgan, Totems + David Adison
Saturday 26th August, Space Academy, Christchurch w/ Les Baxters + Motte
Wednesday 30th August, Wine Cellar, Auckland w/ Snouts + Piss Cannon
Saturday 2nd September, Pyramid Club, Wellington w/ Riki Gooch + Borrowed_cs

Take a listen to 'SXXCH' from their recent split tape with Video Ezy on Paradise Daily Records, which you can find over here on Bandcamp...

And also dive into this excellent offering entitled 'Came to Earth to Leave'...
