Wolves In The Throne Room Share Musical Tribute To Fallen Friends
Olympia-based ambient black metal crew Wolves In The Throne Room have let loose an immersive new cut called ‘Angrboda’, from their forthcoming sixth album Thrice Woven. The tune is named after the giantess herald of sorrow in Norse mythology and honours the memory of Joey Casio and Barrett Clark, members of the record label Katabatik who tragically passed away in a fire at the Oakland-based artist space known as Ghost Ship in December 2016. The band spoke about the musical memento in a statement:
“We release this song to honour our beloved friends in the Katabatik community who died in the Ghost Ship fire. Wolves In The Throne Room was born in the mountains in celebration with these same brothers and sisters."
