Listen to Water's Debut Album 'Enjoy'
Auckland indie-rock group Water have just dropped their debut album Enjoy, a seven-song collection of gloriously catchy guitar pop and rambling ballads. Fronted by Rackets’ songwriter Oscar Davies-Kay, the band features members of local favourites Surf City, Couchmaster, and Bozo. Bass player Mike Ellis shed some light on the new outfit…
“It's Oscar Davies-kay on vocals, Mason Fairey on drums, Rikki Sutton on guitar/keyboards, Vince Nairn on lead guitar, and me (Mike Ellis) on bass and backing vocals. We got together this time last year and have just been focusing on writing and recording. We tracked the album live with Darryn Paterson-Harkness at Tone Exchange on Queen St and have been doing overdubs and stuff for the last few months. Mixed it ourselves and Steven John Marr mastered it.”
Water will be playing their first ever live show at Auckland’s Whammy Bar on Friday 10th November, listen to the new album and catch them soon…
