Listen To Kane Strang's New Song 'Hi Vis' On Pro-Equality Mixtape

Dunedin-based songsmith Kane Strang has let loose a demo of a new tune called ‘Hi Vis’ on Australian compilation Thirty Days Of Yes. The song occupies an interesting space on the sonic spectrum, feeling equal parts ominous and nonchalant, with Strang's idiosyncratic vocal stylings accompanied by unconventional guitar chords.

Thirty Days Of Yes is a “subscription mixtape” that has released a song each day for over 30 days and was developed to promote the ‘yes’ message in the Australian Marriage Law Postal Survey. The compilation is a treasure trove of rare remixes, demos and live recordings and is donating all profits generated to LGBTQI+ youth organisations Minus18 and Twenty10. Further contributors include Marlon Williams with his excellent 2016 tune 'Arahura' and Wellington producer Lontalius with a guitar demo of ‘Yr Heart Is Beating’. Other highlights are Hockey Dad covering Aussie rockers You Am I and Leah Senior’s excellent tune ‘Equality’. Check it out below…
