Auckland's Water Drop New Video 'Country Calls'

Monday 6th November, 2017 9:27AM

Auckland alt-pop group Water have followed up their recent and popular 'Enjoy' EP with a panoramic video for single ‘Country Calls’ by director Frey McCahon-Jones. A supergroup of sorts, Water features Oscar Davies-Kay (Rackets) on songwriting duties, supported by a crack lineup including members of Surf City, Couchmaster, and Bozo. The video is a tour of the breadth of Central Auckland’s famous Karangahape Road, starting on Pitt Street and and continuing along Great North Road into the suburbs, it delivers a lot of familiar sights and conveys a curiously nostalgic sensation. Davies-Kay described the making of the clip as follows...

"The video was made by my friend Frey McCahon-Jones. It was made on a iPhone pressed against the window of a normal and double-decker bus. (It shows) his bus route from the Library to our house in Kingsland."

The group will be playing their debut live show this coming Friday alongside Jim Nothing and For The Girl Who Has Everything at Whammy Bar, check out their clip for ‘Country Calls’…
