Earth Tongue Unveil Fuzzy Single 'Pentagram On The Moon'

Wellington psychedelic duo Earth Tongue have dropped their latest single ‘Pentagram On The Moon’, a catchy slice of witchy heaviness in advance of the group’s upcoming album fundraiser next Saturday at Meow. The supernatural song follows last year's Portable Shrine EP and is inspired by floating, glowing apparitions and outer space satanic rituals. Comprised of guitarist/vocalist Gussie Larkin (Mermaidens) and drummer/vocalist Ezra Simons, the noisy two-piece have an exciting year ahead of them, opening for US stoner rock icons Sleep this January. "'Pentagram on the Moon' is a song about a mysterious ball of light floating through the forest. It follows a young woman into a clearing, where she stands transfixed, unable to look away. The light source hovers into her mouth, and travels up into her brain. The woman collapses onto the gravel, and experiences intense visions of the future, where she is looking down at a flaming earth from a satanic ritual site on the moon.

We recorded the song in our jam space/bunker with our collaborator/flatmate/pal Oliver Devlin, who also recorded our first EP 'Portable Shrine'. The recording captures the #live #raw #energy of Earth Tongue and I lost count of how many layers of fuzz we slathered on afterwards. Since there's only two of us in the band it'd be tempting to add lots of extra bits... but I think we make enough noise as it is!
