Wellington's annual Newtown Festival have announced a smashing lineup for March, which will feature fourteen stages spread throughout the free outdoor street event. Highlights from the huge bill include legendary soul artist Che Fu, psychedelic rockers Earth Tongue, sonic travellers Orchestra Of Spheres, X-Files loving Auckland trio Wax Chattels, riotous punks Unsanitary Napkin and lots more. New Zealand’s largest street fair and free music festival Newtown Festival is back and set to be held on Sunday the 4th of March. This will be Newtown Festival’s 24th year and is set to be one of its biggest with over 450 stalls and 14 stages scattered across the streets of Newtown. Organisers have been working hard to curate a day of music, dance, street parades, world food, amazing crafts and more!

Death Ray Record store owner Apa Chappel (boss man) has been curating the much loved Wilson Street stage for the past two years and gives us insight into what we can expect.

“The later Wilson Street goes, the louder it will get. Last stage to finish up at the festival. 14 bands split over 2 stages. Rock n roll, indie pop, rungus punk and psychedelia.”
