Alien Weaponry Unleash Powerful Single 'Holding My Breath' + Video

Friday 16th March, 2018 12:29PM

Northland shredders Alien Weaponry have dropped the powerful latest single 'Holding My Breath' from their forthcoming debut album Tū, which is dropping in early June via Austrian purveyors of all things metal Napalm Records. Of Ngati Pikiao and Ngati Raukawa descent, the trio's intense new tune is a departure from their groundbreaking single 'Rū Ana Te Whenua' which was sung in Te Reo Māori, as 'Holding My Breath' is entirely in English. The single tackles themes of anxiety and social alienation head on, singer Lewis de Jong’s shared his thoughts around the origins of the song, read his statement below and catch the rising stars in action as they support rap-rock supergroup Prophets Of Rage at Auckland's Spark Arena this this Tuesday 20th March...

“It’s about something that actually happened to me. I felt so bad that I literally stayed in my room and couldn’t bring myself to leave the house or talk to anyone... I wrote the song at that time, and it was one of the things that helped me work through it, so I hope it will resonate with other people going through similar things.”

'Tū' is out Friday 1st June via Napalm Records.
