Julia Deans Unveils Animated Video 'The Panic'

Tuesday 10th April, 2018 9:28AM

Taite-nominated songwriter Julia Deans (Fur Patrol, The Adults) has shared 'The Panic', the anthemic latest single from her forthcoming album We Light Fire which is out in May. The new song offers a change in pace from Deans' balladic recent tunes, with Gary Numan-esque chugging robo-pop production contrasting nicely with the artist's crystalline vocal delivery. The accompanying animated clip by long-term collaborator Greg Page also adopts a gritty tone, his droll charcoal scribblings expressing the distressed character of Deans' lyrics. Deans shared her ideas around the single in a statement, saying "'The Panic' is about learning to live with our fears & anxieties – with depression. It’s about recognising that all of us harbour these feelings in our own varying forms and, at one time or another, we have to work out how to keep them in check & reign them in before they take over."
