Kody Nielson Unveils New Album 'Birthday Suite'
The multitalented Kody Nielson (Silicon, Unknown Mortal Orchestra) has unveiled the first full-length album under his own name Birthday Suite, following a tantalising run of immaculately conceived synth-baroque singles released on the birth dates of his friends and family. Nielson's instrumental collection is inspired by his love of electronic pioneers Wendy Carlos and Tomita, as well as classical composers Bach and Stravinsky. When we recently chatted with the artist about his new record he stated "the idea that I’m going to put the songs out on birthdays... each track is one of my family’s or friend’s birthdays. The plan is to put the album out on my birthday." That date couldn't come any sooner - happy birthday Kody Nielson! Dive into his celebratory album Birthday Suite below...
'Birthday Suite' is out now via Flying Nun Records.
