Press release:
A.U.R.A is the solo project of Wellington, NZ based songwriter Albert Mikolaj who operates in the sonic landscape halfway between Bon Iver and Jeff Buckley. His sound has the classic textures of singer-songwriter folk but it also transcends into more electronic territories at times. He received an art grant from NZ on Air to make a music video for his first single G.I Wonder which recently completed production. The single was premiered by Impose Magazine and featured on Apple Music's Alternative Genre page as well as the 'Best of the Week’ playlist by Apple Music Japan.
A.U.R.A will be touring New Zealand throughout June and July with his full band consisting of, Holly Beals (of Joe Blossom), Ben Lemi (of Trinity Roots, French For Rabbits) and Samuel Austin. Some of the supporting acts joining A.U.R.A on this tour include Nadia Reid, Steve Abel, Motte and Girl Boss. A.U.R.A also opened for Tiny Ruins earlier this year following her return from SXSW.
