Unknown Mortal Orchestra Unveil Animated Video 'Hunnybee'
Ruban Nielson's Unknown Mortal Orchestra has had a winning year, literally kicking off the whole shebang with his midnight performance at Auckland's Wondergarden 2017, dropping a commanding run of singles, and nailing it with his subtly sci-fi new album Sex & Food. He's now shared a video for what is arguably the highlight from that record 'Hunnybee', an infectiously grooving psych-funk confection that gets under your skin. The hummable single is inspired by his daughter's middle name, and could also allude to the S & M beekeeper outfit depicted on the new record's cover. Animated again by Nielson's Sex & Food visual collaborator Greg Sharp, the clip for 'Hunnybee' reflects on a life in transit and is as buzzy as the name suggests...
'Sex & Food' is out now via Jagjaguwar / Rhythmethod.
