Auckland's James Thorrington Shares Debut Single 'Mystery Caller' Ft. Nick Lehtola
Auckland singer and producer James Thorrington (ex-drummer of post-punk high flyers Yukon Era and Altered Blondes) has unveiled his debut solo single 'Mystery Caller' co-written with local artist Nick Lehtola. The sophisticated late night pop of 'Mystery Caller' belies the staggering fact Thorrington is only sixteen years old, the youthful artist squeezes the songwriting and production duties into the margins of his daily schoolwork. The song's release was accompanied by Spotify-only tune 'Wonder', Thorrington promises new material is on the way and shared his thoughts on working with Lehtola...
"...(Nick is) on bass and occasional co-songwriting duties with me. It adds a really nice dynamic, rather than me doing all the songs on my own. Also, Nick's deep musical & theoretical knowledge is super interesting, and working with him can really help me take my song ideas to places I wouldn't have been able to go by myself."
