Callum Gentleman Unveils Reflective Single 'Cigarettes' + Video
Denver-based New Zealand songwriter Callum Gentleman has shared a moody and atmospheric single titled ‘Cigarettes’. Lifted from Gentleman's forthcoming aptly-titled Smoke EP, the new tune was inspired boozy evenings spent with the artist's father. In the accompanying video, director Hayley Robertson has this role fielded instead by a gregarious, cigarette-smoking puppet. Gentleman shared his perspective on working with Robertson on the clip...
“I really admire Hayley’s work. It’s always fun and a little enigmatic. I gave her free rein to do whatever she wanted. When she told me her concept I loved it. My only concern was that I was going to get upstaged by a puppet! And that maybe my dad would think the puppet was supposed to be him.”
'Smoke' is out Friday 3rd August.
