Auckland's Nuggiez Unleash Frenzied Single 'Planet B'
Auckland-based noise punks Nuggiez have resurfaced with an indelibly catchy tune ‘Planet B’. The lead single from their forthcoming EP Holocene Ruina, the track is packed full of fiery lead guitar lines and masterfully constructed melodic vocal hooks that belie their devil-may-care delivery. Nuggiez draw on the influence of classic old school punk bands Bad Brains and Dead Kennedys, while the new song's lyrics are engaged with more modern issues as vocalist Drew McCormack discussed in a statement...
“While I was writing the lyrics for 'Planet B' I was seeing a lot of articles about wealthy industrialists investing in rocketry and tech for space travel, and trying to reconcile that with the articles about intense environmental degradation and the inevitability of ecosystem collapse.”
'Holocene Ruina' is out on digital platforms from Friday 17th August.
