Premiere: Richard Dada Shares Dreamy Video 'Pink Flamingos'

Monday 30th July, 2018 12:03PM

Christchurch-based singer and multi-instrumentalist Richard Dada (aka Richard Larsen of Glass Vaults) has dropped a beautifully shot video for his song 'Pink Flamingos', drawn from his stellar debut album 001. The clip is a collaboration with Slovenian-born director Martin Sagadin, who has also created works for Aldous Harding and Marlon Williams, and is premiering his latest feature film Oko Na Roki at the NZ International Film Festival in August. Sagadin's poetic aquatic visuals fit Richard Dada's heartfelt sonics like a glove, the latter shared a few thoughts on how the audio-visual offering came together...

"Working with Martin was the best! When we meet to discuss the video I told him I wanted it to be set in a bath and he ran with that. For me the whole experience was lovely, I literally lay in a bath for a few hours while the film crew and Martin did everything around me. My ears were underwater for the most part so it was quite a disorientating.

'Pink Flamingos' is from my recently released album '001'. We had wanted to work together for a while and this track was Martin's favourite from the album so we went with that one."
