Christchurch's Pavlov's Puss Drop Garage Pop Single 'Petty Hedonist'
Self-proclaimed Christchurch garage pop supergroup Pavlov's Puss is the synergistic creative union of Ox O'Connell (Palace Of Wisdom, The Ruling Elite), Joe Sampson (Salad Boys, T54, The Dance Asthmatics), Chris Andrews (The Ruling Elite) and Julia Van Beek. They've unveiled their infectiously rambling song 'Petty Hedonist', a jangle-pop paean to irresistible outsiders sung by O'Connell in a spoken word style recalling at times the iconoclastic meanderings of Scottish art punks Country Teasers. Their new single is slated to appear on upcoming compilation from local independent imprint Melted Ice Cream Records, Sampson states Pavlov's Puss are releasing an entire collection of tunes via his new label Up Against The Wall, Motherfucker in early 2019, and hints a tour is on the cards too. You can catch them owning the stage at Christchurch's Space Academy this coming Saturday, listen to 'Petty Hedonist' here...
