Press release:

The first lineup for the eighth annual Northern Bass Music Festival is here!

Though this is just the beginning, the soundtrack for this year’s festival is starting to emerge, with headliners so far including NYC rapper chef and ‘F*ck That’s Delicious’ star Action Bronson, Jamaican via London MC and 2018 XXL Freshman Stefflon Don, US live trap outfit Keys n Krates and returning Kiwi drum and bass superstars Shapeshifter.

Heading up the international drum and bass contingent at Northern Bass 18/19 are British DJ/producers, Hospital Record’s London Elektricity, Danny Byrd and S.P.Y performing together for a Hospitality takeover hosted by the one and only Dynamite MC. Another treat for dnb fans will be seeing the first ever NZ performance by Hazard performing B2B with Hype.

Joining them in Mangawhai this New Year are the up and coming Grime lords AJ Tracey and Ocean Wisdom, Jurassic 5 turntablist DJ Nu-Mark, Cut and Paste king DJ Yoda, DnB stars Spectrasoul, dBridge, DJ Storm and LTJ Bukem, Butterz lynchpin Flava D, self described ‘multi genre artist unconcerned with Pigeon holing’ Eva Lazarus and from across the Tasman, bass and trapper Godlands.

Rounding out the local contingent is Kiwi dubstep heroes Truth, high flying trap star Montell 2099 and his Bassment cohorts Katana, T1r and Nekolai, Red Bull Studios Alumni MELODOWNZ and Villette, Auckland MC JessB, duo Aroha and Tali, N eo, George FM’s Dan Aux and Christchurch hip hop crew The Settlers.

Festival director Gareth Popham says; “Our team is constantly striving to bring our fans the best New Year experience possible and this year I feel that we will exceed expectations. We’re really proud of the lineup we’re bringing to Mangawhai this year”.

Last year’s event sold out and with half of the final lineup still to come, this year is well on track to do the same.
