Premiere: Unsanitary Napkin Unleash 'Orgasmic Capitalism' EP

Monday 13th August, 2018 10:04AM

Wellington anarcho-punk trio Unsanitary Napkin have dropped a frenzied collection titled Orgasmic Capitalism, featuring six intense tracks raging against the dysfunctionalities evident in Western capitalistic culture. Songs like 'Peter Thiel (Literal Fucking Vampire)' and 'Good Night White Pride' speak for themselves and more, singer / guitarist Hannah Salmon's (aka Daily Secretion) sandpaper vocals belt out socially relevant anthems over her whiplash guitar riffage, while Rupert Pirie-Hunter's (Downer Buzz) crushing bass and Ben Knight's (The All Seeing Hand, Rogernomix) machine gun drums ram Unsanitary Napkin's urgent message home.

It's all designed to fit on one shiny 7" disc, which comes fit to order on radioactive "slime green vinyl." You can catch the band pummelling local eardrums this Friday 17th August at Wellington's Newtown Bowls Club in celebration of their new EP alongside Total Ruin, Strange Stains and Rogernomix. Knight shared some words on Orgasmic Capitalism and their forthcoming eleven date tour of Australia, kicking off in Brisbane on Friday 24th August...

“Orgasmic Capitalism is a collection of six songs we wrote about the absurd bullshit that’s been happening over the last few years as the dysfunctional core of heteropatriarchal capitalism continues to rot - from the White Nationalist terror attack in Charlottesville last year, to the political assassination of Metiria Turei, to fuckwit billionaire (and New Zealand citizen) Peter Thiel’s fascination with injecting the blood of young people to prolong his life. We’ve even managed to include a sample of Tim Allen and everything he represents being blasted into space forever. Exciting times! In just over a week we’re heading to Australia to play 11 shows with a bunch of amazing bands like Canine, Ubik, Pious Faults and Toecutter.”

Orgasmic Capitalism is out now on 7" vinyl via Unsanitary Napkin's Bandcamp page.
