Thom Yorke Unveils Single 'Suspirium' + Animated Video

Wednesday 5th September, 2018 9:52AM

Iconic Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has taken on the challenge of scoring directer Luca Guadagnino's upcoming reimagining of Italian horror maestro Dario Argento's 1977 classic Suspiria, which originally showcased a unforgettably spine-tingling soundtrack by 70's prog-rockers Goblin. Yorke has wisely chosen a different tack to Goblin's unmatchable bombast with the first song unveiled for the project 'Susperium', leading listeners through a haunting ballad embellished by suspenseful witchy piano arpeggios, conjuring up a suitably dread-inducing atmosphere. Yorke's sonic lament is accompanied by a distressed rotoscope animation rendered in searing tones by the presumably pseudonymous Ruff Mercy. Yorke's soundtrack will feature twenty five compositions written especially for Guadagnino's re-interpretation of the spooky flick, and is due out in late October just in time for Halloween. Succumb to 'Suspirium' here...

'Suspiria (Music for the Luca Guadagnino Film)' is out Friday 26th October via XL Recordings.
