Yukon Era Drop Dynamic Single 'Knife Skies'
Auckland & Melbourne-based post-punks Yukon Era have shared ‘Knife Skies’, the third single unveiled from their debut album due out in early 2019. The song is comprised of bopping, drum-driven rhythms, juxtaposing smooth and frantic sections, demonstrating the youthful group's increasingly refined and dynamic songwriting approach. You can catch the four-piece touring throughout Aotearoa with buds Soda Boyz in September and October celebrating their new split 7" on Prison Tapes. The band shared some thoughts on the creation of their new track in a statement...
"'Knife Skies' is about letting the small pressures of life get under your skin, feeling as if everything you do is like wading through mud. “You shake at the thought of breathing” is one of my favourite lines I have written because it definitely sums up where my mind was at, around the time of writing this song. The song was just a guitar and vocal demo on my laptop for a long long time. When the whole band finally got together on it it became something extremely different, something heavy and jumpy."
