Press release:

Commencing Wednesday 26th September, You’re The Future of Music hopes to become a new fortnightly event for premiering local songwriting talent and the opportunity for young new artists to perform in front of a live audience.

Curated by the headline act, You’re The Future of Music will be diverse and we aspire to be the show that new artists want to play.

With a cover charge of only $5, it’s an affordable night out, and a great opportunity to highlight the developing young talent we have.

The inaugural You're The Future of Music features PAIGE - with Alayna, The Two Nine and Manuela - Wednesday 26th September at Anthology Lounge on K'rd.

PAIGE - Paige has just released her latest single 'Alignments' on Spotify. Her first single 'So Far' released earlier this year, already has over a staggering 120,000 plays on Spotify.

Paige’s mastery of her craft belies her age (20), but then, she’s been captivating audiences since age seven when she began performing in school talent and variety shows. Honing her skills busking and performing local gigs, she ultimately earned a feature on New Zealand’s X-Factor in 2015, while simultaneously building ardent followings on YouTube and Instagram through prodigious uploads of emotional acoustic covers from the catalogs of Dua Lipa, Khalid, Destiny’s Child, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Rex Orange County, Sam Smith and more. In 2017 she self-released her EP ‘On My Own’, and proved both her insightfulness and talent via a Ted X talk at the University of Auckland. She recently captured the attention of teen indie electro-pop prodigy Billie Eilish who endorsed her as a personal favourite.

ALAYNA - Originally from Rotorua, NZ, by way of New York, USA, Alayna Powley has worked with world class producers (Maths Time Joy, Astronomyy, and Grammy-nominated Stint) to debut her Sweet Soul EP. A mixture of R&B, soul and pop is blended in a way that’s distinctly her own, resulting in a phenomenal 10 million accumulated streams on Spotify, features on staff-curated playlists – New Music Friday, Chill Vibes, Alternative R&B, Bedroom Jams and Spotify & Chill, and even a play on BBC Radio 1.

THE TWO NINE - A mix of emotions, determination & the drive to be heard. No one is better to make music with than your sibling who shares your pain & love for music. Hip Hop with Pop influences! A Brother & Sister who combine all sounds mixed with HEART & unforgettable lyrics, that you will leave humming “The Two Nine”

MANUELA - Auckland based singer-songwriter Manuela blends Spanish and English in her music to showcase elements from both sides of her cultural identity. Her music fuses reggaeton, jazz and RnB and it tells stories of youth and love.

You're The Future of Music - commencing Wednesday 26th September at Anthology Lounge on K'rd.
