Listen In festival hit Auckland for the first time on Friday, presenting a cavalcade of international superstars for the local offshoot of Australian dance and hip hop festival Listen Out. Headliners for the one night affair included US rap superstar A$AP Rocky, iconic electronic dance artist Skrillex (who was spotted around town that day purchasing a t-shirt by local emo-punks carb on carb), and UK grime figurehead Skepta, with opener African-Australian artist B Wise subbing in for Pennsylvania rapper Lil Skies. On a night of huge performances A$AP Rocky stood out with onstage pyrotechnics, stage props inspired by the artwork for his latest studio album Testing, and even a car with crash test dummies on stage.
