Tokyo via Whanganui electronic artist Brandon Sayring has unleashed a future-gazing collection of cybernetic dance tracks under the solo moniker of SYSTEMSHOCK via his own label Pattern Recognition. Titled BIOHAZARD, the five instrumental numbers present a breakbreak-driven shift in tone from his exploratory recent works as ROC///OPT/, conjuring sprawling cityscapes haunted by the ever-looming prospect of mutagenic breakout, technology-enhanced gang warfare or extra-dimensional alien incursions. It's an ideal soundtrack for Jolt Cola-fuelled late night hacking sessions and / or an intense round of Wipeout 2097, jack in to BIOHAZARD here...
