MeloDownz Drops Single ‘Peace $igns, Gang $igns’
Avondale rapper MeloDownz aka Bronson Price has dropped live favourite ‘Peace $igns, Gang $igns’, the first single from his upcoming MELO & BLUES double EP out this November. The forthcoming collection features contributions from such luminaries as Louis Baker, Troy Kingi, Villette, Christoph El Truento and UK rapper COOPS. The HIGH BEAMS member is playing at this summer at Christchurch's Electric Avenue Music Festival and is supporting visiting Washington hip hop artist Oddisee in December. MeloDownz shared the ideas behind his reflective track and upcoming EP, read his words and stream ‘Peace $igns, Gang $igns’ below...
“Peace $igns Gang $igns’ is about the dualities of life, the contradictions of being human. My star sign is Gemini so the song expresses the yin and the yang. Essentially the title of the song 'Peace $igns, Gang $igns’ is a metaphor for good and bad.
Melo & Blues is more experimental and showcases more layers to my musicianship and my versatility as an artist. It has a more diverse sound and it explores a mixture of genres that inspired the ideas for this project."
'MELO & BLUES' is out on Friday 23rd November through MeloDownz’ own record label, Liightside.
