Premiere: Auckland's Shoddy Share Debut Single 'Party Bird, Late Worm'

Tuesday 23rd October, 2018 12:28PM

Auckland subterranean "goth glam grunge psych" unit Shoddy have unveiled their debut single 'Party Bird, Late Worm', following a tantalising run of live appearances. Comprised of members of Jack’s Cold Sweat, Human Resource and Hdspns, the four piece features Witchy Dugdale aka Witchy on lead vocals and guitar, bassist Toby King, drummer Thomas Pembroke and Daniel Pickstone handling a multitude of instruments including saxophone, percussion and iPhone. Their torch-burning tune eases listeners in with hypnotically locked-in melodies, before blooming into an expressive tangle of stormy guitars, passionate vocal yowls and late night sax. It's the first song shared from Shoddy's debut collection With Nails and Glue which is dropping on Wednesday 7th November, the very same day the band will be performing at The Wine Cellar with buds My Anatomy and Blue Cheese. The group shared an enigmatic statement on 'Party Bird, Late Worm'...

"Music structured with too many semi-colons, cast out from four Shoddy minds. Help me Help you escape.

Shoddy is
Shoddy does."
