The Babe Rainbow Returning To New Zealand In January

Byron Bay guitar-slingers The Babe Rainbow are returning to Aotearoa for a sun-soaked North Island tour in January. The psychedelic guitar-pop unit are hitting Havelock North's NestFest which features such local faves as Connan Mockasin and Soaked Oats, along with Raglan's annual Soundsplash extravaganza and the Wairarapa's inaugural Tora Bombora festival, as well as a clutch of headline events in Auckland, Wellington and Coromandel's awesomely named Eggsentric Cafe. The band were last here for a sold out tour in 2015 and are back in our land to celebrate the recent unveiling of of their vibey second studio album Double Rainbow, released via rock juggernauts King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard's label Flightless Records. Back by popular demand and intrigue, from the land of grass without mirrors... come The Babe Rainbow.

Sun-kissed pop stars from Australia cross the pond to New Zealand after their last sold out tour demanded their return. With 3 headline shows, and 3 festival performances including a headline slot at the inaugural sold out Tora Bombora festival, Soundsplash and Nest Fest (alongside Connan Mockasin and the Family Band).

After a furious and frantic 2016 and 2017 weaving through various parts of the globe, 2018 has seen the band weaving rainbow charming audiences at the touring Laneway Festival through Australia, alongside (Anderson Paak and War on Drugs), and no sooner had the tour ended and the band quickly retreated with producer Wayne Connolly to the homey hills of Byron Bay, to record their second album Double Rainbow.

Thanks to the open heart of Music Farm studio, the new album has been laid to the tape machine. Double Rainbow is the sophomore album by the Babe Rainbow and it is instore and online now.
