Monuments Announce New Zealand Shows

Monday 5th November, 2018 1:47PM

British progressive metal juggernauts Monuments are bringing their epic widescreen riffage to Aotearoa this January, with two thunderous performances locked in for Wellington's Valhalla and Auckland's Galatos. Monuments have blazed their own trail since forming under the name of Elements in 2009, with subsequent crucial releases under their current name having huge impact upon the then-emerging realm of technically virtuosic prog-metal subgenre Djent (named after a distinctive low-pitch guitar sound first used by Meshuggah). Catalysed by John Browne (Fellsilent) and Josh Travis (The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza), the five-piece have three artfully intense studio albums under their collective belt, including 2018's Phronesis which dropped in October. Grip the details here...

Wednesday 23rd January - Valhalla, Wellington
Thursday 24th January - Galatos, Auckland
