Jamie McDell Unveils Summery Video '3AM'

Mangawhai songwriter Jamie McDell has shared a self-directed, flora-centric clip for her heartwarming track ‘3AM’. The country-tinged tune is lifted from the artist's self-released latest album Extraordinary Girl which was recorded between Auckland and Nashville Tennessee with Australian producer Nash Chambers. The New Zealand Music Award-winning artist provided some insight into her foray into the visual medium, as well as the inspiration behind the song...

"I wanted to capture some of the raw outdoor imagery that truly inspires me around my home when I get the opportunity to be there. All bright and free components of nature that are quite the opposite of where I’m usually creating my music.

The majority of the songs on my latest record were written in a bedroom in Nashville.. trust me, it sounds more glamorous than it really was. Maybe due to time difference or some sort of anxiety knowing I was journeying into a new phase of my career, I kept waking up at 3am. And the only soothing thing to do at that time in the morning is write a song."
