Auckland electronic hip hop four-piece Yoko-Zuna have unleashed their highly-anticipated sophomore album Voyager. The genre-bending crew's new record showcases their flair for instrumental inventiveness alongside an impressive lineup of local guest collaborators including SWIDT, Bailey Wiley, Ladi6, Raiza Biza, Noah Slee, JessB, P-Money and Bobandii. More than just musicians, Yoko-Zuna are also storytellers as the vivacious album plays out like sixteen chapters in a sci-fi novel - opening with a ‘Prologue’ and concluding with an ‘Epilogue’. Drummer Swap Gomez shared some of the ideas orbiting the collection in a statement...

"We went into recording this album with two concepts in mind... that it was going to be the biggest project yet, and that it was going to be kind of a finale for this four year, multiple project saga. This was going to be the culmination of that whole time period. It's been really cool to piece all of it together, piece the album together as a whole thematic thing, as well as with the past projects, and this Yoko-Zuna 'world' we've been making for the last four years."

Yoko-Zuna are playing album release parties at Wellington’s San Fran tonight and Auckland’s Raynham Park Studio on Friday 30th November.

'Voyager' is out now on limited edition vinyl and digitally via LOOP / KOBALT.
