Press release:

The glorious Newtown Festival in Wellington is approaching once again on Sunday 3 March 2019. The hugely popular free festival promises to have something for everybody across 14 streets activated with 13 stages and 7 activity zones, bringing together music, traditional cultural performance, community groups, dance, buskers, circus, parades, fun for the kids, and more.

Among the fabulous lineup of over a hundred acts from Newtown and beyond, including the already announced headlines Ria Hall and Bic Runga, Newtown Festival presents a programme featuring emerging talent alongside established favourites.

Local venues are participating during the festival as well as hosting after parties.

The 2019 Newtown Festival will mark its 23rd year as a street festival, and 25th year as a celebration of the suburb, which began more modestly in Carrara Park. Newtown Festival is the largest free music festival and street fair in New Zealand.
