Watch Sharon Van Etten's Nostalgic Video 'Seventeen'
US songwriter and actor Sharon Van Etten has shared an endearingly nostalgic video for her new single ‘Seventeen’. The track is the third peek at her long-awaited first album in five years Remind Me Tomorrow, following previous releases ‘Comeback Kid’ and ‘Jupiter 4’. The latest song is a Springsteen-esque sonic saunter steeped in sentiment, with the accompanying clip depicting Van Etten revisiting spaces that have a connection with her own memories of living in New York City for the past 15 years. Director Maureen Towey shared some insight into the inspiration behind the beautifully shot clip...
"Sharon wanted to use this video to create a love letter to New York, her home for the last 15 years. She showed us around all her old haunts -- the places that made her the musician that she is today. Some of these spots are still around, some are just empty lots now. We took an eye toward the city that was both tender and tough, trying to find the ways that a beautiful city can fall apart while still nurturing the hopes of a young artist.”
'Remind Me Tomorrow' is out Friday January 18th via Jagjaguwar.
