It's been just over two months since we've seen a release from Auckland guitar-pop heroes The Beths, who are currently conquering the world on a seemingly endless victory tour, celebrating the release of their universally lauded debut long player Future Me Hates Me. The Beths' first release for 2019 is a snazzy video for album highlight 'Uptown Girl', a ripping power-pop tune which singer and guitarist Elizabeth Stokes described in her recent interview with UTR as "basically about self-destructive behaviour, when you’re angry at someone or you feel like somebody's wronged you and your mode of revenge is to fuck yourself up." The propulsive song is complimented by a rapid-fire montage of footage filmed by the band on their day to day travels as an international touring unit.

The Beths are currently touring the States with an appearance at SXSW lined up for mid-March, and announced yesterday they've pulled out of scheduled Australian dates with The Smith Street Band, stating "We won't be supporting with The Smith Street Band on their Australian tour, apologies to those who have bought tickets. We will still be playing headline shows but the dates might be affected so please bear with us while we sort this out... Thank you to the people who dropped a line to let us know what is going on, we don't want to support this abuser and we stand with the victims involved." The online statement was met with acclaim from fans who've applauded the The Beths' stand against abuse, enjoy their clip for 'Uptown Girl' here...

'Future Me Hates Me' is out now via Carpark Records.
