Auckland's Lou'ana Drops Debut Single 'Eye To Eye' + Video

Lou’ana of Auckland's Hipstamatics has stepped into the spotlight with the release of her debut solo single 'Eye To Eye', a smokin' slice of hip-shaking soul with a spellbinding twist. She plays the role of a fortune teller in the song's stunning accompanying clip directed by Annie Duckworth and shot by Nina Wells, featuring some superb choreography and vividly lit witchy backdrops. You can catch the second generation Samoan New Zealander kicking off her month-long tour of Aotearoa this Friday at Port Albert's Earth Beat Festival, and she'll be headlining the Waiheke Jazz Festival in mid-April. "It was amazing working with such a heavily female team for this concept. We had a female producer, director, cinematographer, choreographer and all female talent. With themes of female strength and depictions of powerful magical women it felt important that this was being made from the perspective of women. A film set is such a traditionally masculine environment, so that dedication to making sure there are plenty of women on the crew really brings in a different energy and is super rad for creativity and collaboration."
