Premiere: Long Distance Runner Unleash 'No Escape' EP

Auckland noiseniks Long Distance Runner have unchained their second collection No Escape, showcasing six furious tracks obliterating the ear-bleeding lines between hardcore, post-punk, black metal and noise rock which we're stoked to premiere here. Featuring members of local heavy hitters Parents, sere and Human Resource, the band have squeezed the lightning fast EP onto one limited edition 7" vinyl disc, which you can score for yourself at tonight's launch party at Whammy Backroom with support from buds Hedge Fund Trader, Dateless and Take Hold. Long Distance Runner frontman Simon Oswald reflected on the ideas explored on the new collection...

"Lyrically I explored themes of a intrinsic personal nature. Ideas like time and our place in it, fear and the isolation it's brings. The secrets we only tell ourselves and how they define us but also how they seperate us all. I also used my lyrics in a cathartic way to express how suicide effects those around them, the guilt and the pain we feel."
