LA electronic artist Flying Lotus has unleashed a collaborative single featuring the unmistakable vocal talents of legendary director David Lynch (Twin Peaks), the first track revealed from his upcoming new album Flamagra. Like a deeply uncomfortable bedtime story, the spoken word number's accompanying clip directed by Flying Lotus and David Firth is appropriately enough an eerie visual spectacle – opening a portal to a weird world of menacing animal spirits (unforgettably portrayed by Lynch) and dilapidated environments. Flamagra will be the Brainfeeder impresario's first long-player since 2014's Grammy-nominated You’re Dead!, he's since lent his considerable talents to such pivotal collections as Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly and Thundercat’s Drunk. The new record is set to be an all-star affair, featuring contributions from Anderson .Paak, George Clinton, Little Dragon, Tierra Whack, Shabazz Palaces, Thundercat, Toro y Moi and Solange. FlyLo shared a statement exploring the incendiary theme of his forthcoming album...

“I’d been working on stuff for the past five years, but it was always all over the place. I’d always had this thematic idea in mind—a lingering concept about fire, an eternal flame sitting on a hill... Some people love it, some people hate it. Some people would go on dates there and some people would burn love letters in the fire.”

'Flamagra' is out on Friday 24th May via Warp.
