Leisure Unveil Single 'On My Mind' + Announce National Tour

Tuesday 23rd April, 2019 9:04AM

Auckland dance-pop collective Leisure have dropped ‘On My Mind’, the latest track from their second studio album Twister set for release this July, and are gearing up to steamroll across Aotearoa with their fresh suite of tunes this winter. Featuring members of such notable local artistic entities as The Melancholies and HIGH H00PS, the five piece's 2016 self-titled debut album set streaming services aflame, racking up over 65 million streams so far. Their slinky-grooved latest single was first premiered on taste making UK fashion / music site High Snobiety over the Easter weekend and is a soulfully laid back affair – with deceptively minimal instrumentation carving out lush aural spaces for the song's lyrical musings and ample hooks to work their magic.

Leisure reflected on the downtime between long-players, stating “It’s been two and a half years since we released our debut album. Admittedly, we had no idea what we were doing at the time, the only certainty was that the combination of the creative energies when we were all in a room was a feeling none of us had felt before.

We make our favourite things when we become creatively unconscious. Our sophomore album was a good opportunity for us to explore new ideas. We all took turns as the album took shape to fall in love with each of the songs, each swirling with their own mood and colour. We are very proud to share with the world, come July, our eclectic 14 track collection; Twister.”
